What Are Implant Overdentures?
Implant overdentures can be used to replace one or all the upper and lower teeth. Instead of resting on top of your gums like traditional dentures, an implant overdenture attaches directly to your jawbone on top of dental implants. Dental implants are tiny threaded posts that substitute missing roots. These dentures have attachments that snap them onto these implants in your jaw. As a result, implant overdentures are held in place more strongly, and patients don’t have to worry about slippage during eating, chewing, and speaking. Further, anchoring in fixed implants protects the jawbone from wear and tear.
