STRAIGHTEN YOUR SMILE

With Invisalign®

Bakersfield Invisalign® Valley Grace DentalCrooked, uneven, or misaligned teeth can cause severe self-consciousness and social anxiety. Besides their aesthetic concerns, misaligned teeth also lead to poor oral hygiene, uneven bite, and other medical concerns, such as TMJ, teeth grinding (bruxism), etc. In the past, the only way to straighten misaligned teeth was through ugly metallic braces worn for several years. Unfortunately, metallic braces often compound the social anxiety and self-consciousness caused by uneven teeth. Children and teenagers with braces are often the targets of bullying, and the presence of metallic brackets on the teeth prevents them from smiling comfortably. That is why we provide Invisalign to Bakersfield residents.

At Valley Grace Dental, we recommend Invisalign as the ideal alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign is the brand name of one of the world’s most popular and effective clear aligners, popular amongst teenagers and adults alike. Invisalign braces, made of hard and transparent plastic, apply pressure on your teeth to gradually move them in the desired direction. Invisalign has gained popularity over the past decade because they’re completely invisible to the casual observer, and they’re far more comfortable than traditional braces. Arthur Huang, DDS at Valley Grace Dental customizes the ideal Invisalign treatment plan for you and your family.

CAN INVISALIGN® HELP YOU?

Invisalign is a suitable orthodontic treatment for children, teenagers, and adults with misaligned, crooked, or uneven teeth. You should consider Invisalign treatment if you have one of the following dental issues:

  • Protruding front teeth
  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Deep overbite
  • Crossbite
  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Spacing issues
  • Other misalignment issues

HOW DOES INVISALIGN WORK?

During your consultation with, Dr. Huang, our exceptional orthodontist in Bakersfield carefully examines your teeth and discusses your cosmetic concerns and expectations. They examine your teeth, take digital x-rays, impressions, and computer images. After acquiring all the necessary information, they develop a detailed Invisalign treatment plan, allowing you to see how the Invisalign aligners will gradually move your teeth in the desired direction.

The dentists send your impressions and measurements to the laboratory for custom-made Invisalign aligners. During your next session, you’ll receive a series of Invisalign aligners corresponding to different stages in your orthodontic process. You’ll have to wear each Invisalign aligner for approximately two weeks, allowing it to gradually move your teeth in the desired direction.

You’ll need to continue changing the aligners, moving down the series of Invisalign aligners every two weeks to ensure your teeth continue moving in the correct direction, coming closer to the optimally straightened position. After the final aligner, you may have to wear dental retainers for a few weeks or months to ensure your teeth stay in the correct position.

The entire orthodontic process is simple and painless. The Invisalign aligners don’t chafe your gums or cause any other problems. You can also take the aligners off during meals, allowing you to eat whatever you want without worrying about staining the aligners. However, you must wear the aligners for at least 22 hours every day to ensure they work properly.

BENEFITS OF INVISALIGN

Minimal Discomfort: Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners don’t include metallic components that can chafe or hurt your gums. After a brief adjustment period, most people don’t even feel the Invisalign aligners.

Nearly Invisible: Invisalign clear aligners are made of clear plastic that’s nearly “invisible” to a casual observer. As such, you don’t have to worry about social anxiety or self-consciousness.

Removable: You can remove the Invisalign aligners whenever you want, especially before meals. As such, you can enjoy your meal comfortably, eating whatever you want. Once you’re done, you can clean your teeth and wear your Invisalign again. However, you should wear your Invisalign for at least 22 hours a day to ensure they work optimally.

Easier Teeth Cleaning: With traditional braces, maintaining optimal oral health is challenging because the archwires and brackets cause obstructions. However, you can easily remove your Invisalign, clean your teeth, and wear them again.

Improved Periodontal Health: Properly aligned teeth improve your overall gum health and minimize the risk of gum disease. They allow gums to properly fit around the teeth, reducing micro-gaps that can increase the risk of bacterial infection.
